Expert Tip 1:
Be patient! You may not get the hang of suturing straight away, but with practice you will improve. Make sure to watch others carefully and ask for feedback on your own technique.Expert Tip 2:
When reading an x-ray, try to take a structured approach. This will involve looking at each element separately as well as looking at the x-ray as a whole.

Clinical exposure is exceptionally difficult to find at the moment but that shouldn’t stop you gaining the experience you need. Our clinical skills course is a great hands-on course that can be added to your CV and personal statement. The clinical skills course also gives you a head start for your first year of medical school.
We post out a clinical skills pack with all the equipment you will need for the course in advance. Then we jump into our online teaching room where one of our Mentors will run a fully interactive clinical skills course that you can take without even needing to leave the house.

Practical Skills
We teach students the same practical skills they will learn in the first few years of medical school. Gain insight into medical school teaching and also get a head start on your clinical skills.

We send you all the equipment you need in advance. You then log in to our online teaching platform from the comfort of your own home.

All our Doctors and Medical Students are fantastic teachers and approachable mentors. You will have time to speak to them about their jobs and their experiences.
Course Timetable
Our clinical skills courses run from 10am until approximately 2:30pm (UK time). We will also include short breaks through the day and a 30 minute lunch break.
10:00 am – Welcome and introductions
10:15 am – Suture masterclass
11:15 am – How to interpret X-rays
12:00 pm – Lunch
12:30 pm – Introduction to ECGs
12:45 pm – MRI and CT scans
1:15 pm – Surgical knot tying
2:15 pm – Q&A with our mentor
2:30 pm – End of the course

What happens after I book?

Who will deliver this course?
One of our Doctors, Surgeons or exceptional medical students will deliver this course.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. We will email out certificates of completion after you have completed the course.
I don’t live in the UK, can I join this course?
Yes, international students are more than welcome to join this course. We will have to add an additional postage charge to cover the cost of shipping the clinical skills pack to you. This is usually between £20-£30. Please email us at info@medicalprojects.co.uk to arrange this.
Do we have time to ask questions of the Mentors?
Yes, of course! These sessions are really fun and interactive and there will be lots of chat and conversation throughout the course. There will also be time at the end of the course to ask any questions of our Mentors, clinical skills related or otherwise.
How does it work online?
Our clinical skills course is delivered online via our Zoom platform. We ask all students to turn their videos on when they join and use their microphones to speak to our Doctors throughout the session to give a classroom feel to the day.
