Real Medical Cases

Students on our Ward Round Live course interact directly with the patients and will be dealing with real cases such as pneumonia, head injuries, asthma attacks etc. The patient interaction is managed via our live-streaming studio, so students need to have their microphones and web cameras always on to ensure the best possible experience.

Lead a Ward Round

Our Doctors will teach you how to conduct a ward round before you lead your own in the afternoon. Develop your medical knowledge, team-working and communication skills and take on your own medical cases as a team. Can you lead a ward round like our NHS Doctors?

Speak Directly to Patients

You will be putting into practice all the skills and knowledge you have learnt and will be speaking directly to patients yourself. You will be taking a comprehensive patient history. Make sure you gather a full medical, medication, social and family history from your patients!

Diagnose Medical Conditions

After speaking to the patients and interpreting examination and test results, you will work as a team to propose a range of diagnoses. It’s important you have an open mind at this stage before presenting your diagnosis back to our Doctors.

Build Treatment Plans

After discussing your diagnoses with the Doctor you can start to build an appropriate treatment plan. This could involve calling in additional specialists or more advanced tests or medications, the decision is yours!

Review Cases with NHS Doctors

When you have signed off your treatment plans as a team, you will then review the case and your decisions with the Doctor. We will break down each case where you will learn about a range of real medical cases and the correct treatment plans NHS Doctors would make.

Application Q&A with Doctor

As with all our courses, we will have time to reflect on the course and discuss how to use it effectively for your medical school application. We will also have an open Q&A where you can ask our NHS Doctors questions about the application process and their experiences.

Are they real patients?

All the medical cases are real and are delivered by medical actors. Every actor is prepped with an extensive medical history and will be able to answer any questions you have.

How does it work online?

We have built a hospital ward within a TV studio so you can access via our online platform. You will be on-screen so the Doctor and patients can see and hear you. You will be able to interact with everyone directly from your computer at home. You will need a working video and microphone on your computer or laptop.

Won't everyone doing this course have the same experience?

Nearly half of the course is live interaction between the students, patients and doctors so it’s always unique. We don’t use pre-recorded videos, it’s all 100% live.
