A&E Medical Scenarios
Fractured bones, heart problems, patients in pain… all that in the fast-paced and highly-stressed environment of the A&E. It’s like being a doctor in the show ’24 hours in A&E’! Students on our A&E Live course will take part in multiple scenarios where they will have to deal with the most common A&E situations.
Quick Thinking and Resilience
This course aims to help students build resilience and quick thinking skills that are crucial on the journey of becoming a doctor. In teams, students will be trying to determine what’s going on with the patients and come up with the best possible treatment plan. Sometimes, however, students will not have all the information and time to make an informed decision, and they will have to stick with their intuition!

Talk Live To Patients and Doctors
The whole course is built on interactivity. Students talk Live to patients and doctors themselves and literally take on the role of an A&E Doctor. This experience is much more immersive than shadowing a doctor, where the doctor usually doesn’t even have time to answer students’ questions, let alone give students the space to experience it for themselves.
Patient History Taking
Taking a patient’s history is an essential skill of every doctor. Students on our A&E Live course will practice this skill in a high-pressure environment, where students will have to consider the patient’s medical history alongside their current condition to come up with a treatment plan.

Insight into Being an A&E Doctor
Medical schools want to see that the applicants realise what it is like to be a doctor and have a realistic understanding of the role. This course will help students with that, enabling students to explore one of the most demanding and stressful jobs in the world – Doctor in A&E.
Online & Accessible
With our state-of-the-art streaming technology, we stream this course live via Zoom. Students will need a working video and microphone to be able to interact with our Doctors, patients and fellow students. No more rejections from local hospitals or GP practices. We are open to all students.

Q&A with NHS Doctors
At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to speak to the Doctor not only about the content of the course, but about anything they want to! They can ask about the Medicine application, their journey to Medicine or anything else.

“AMAZING COURSE! I can’t believe we could talk to the patients and Doctors. It was even better than the GP shadowing I did. I will be booking another one soon!”
– Annie (student)
“Initially, I was concerned about how effective the online learning would be. The set-up was fantastic and my Son learnt so much from the day. This is the future of healthcare.”
– John (Parent)
“I booked this course for my daughter, who has struggled to find any work experience. It was really well put together and really insightful. I was impressed by how the students could actually interact with patients and Doctors. “

All the medical cases are real and are delivered by medical actors. Every actor is prepped with an extensive medical history and will be able to answer any questions you have.
How does it work online?
We have built a GP Surgery within a TV studio that you can access via our online platform. You will be on-screen so the Doctor and patients can see and hear you. You will be able to interact with everyone directly from your computer at home. You will need a working video and microphone on your computer or laptop.
Won’t everyone doing this course have the same experience?
Nearly half of the course is live interaction and discussion between the students, patients and doctors so it’s always unique. We don’t use pre-recorded videos, it’s all 100% live.
